Shows the customer’s local time and converts a suitable call window into the current manager’s time.

Managers no longer need to calculate time differences manually. The order page shows the customer’s local time, whether it is appropriate to call now, and when the manager should call from their own city.

Highlights

  • resolves the time zone from the shipping country, region, and city;
  • shows the customer’s local time and whether a call is appropriate now;
  • converts the configured call window into the current manager’s time, including a “+1 day” marker;
  • supports a default store location and a separate city for every active backend user;
  • selects the time zone automatically after a city is chosen;
  • handles daylight saving time and 30/45-minute offsets;
  • never modifies the order or customer contact.

Built for distributed teams

A manager in London and a manager in Tokyo will see different call windows for the same customer in New York. If a personal location is not configured, the default store location is used.

In the settings, find a manager, type at least two city-name characters, and select the exact result with its country and region. The time zone is filled in automatically. Manual selection remains available as a fallback and shows the current UTC offset.

Worldwide city search

The plugin includes a local GeoNames catalog with 69,695 populated places in 245 countries and 33,510 additional name variants. Search runs on the store server and returns no more than 12 suggestions.

The catalog is based on cities5000. A very small settlement may not be included; in that case, the city and time zone can be entered manually. For duplicate city names, the plugin does not guess—the manager selects the correct country and region.

Shipping address and IP

The shipping address has priority and is processed locally; it is never sent to external geocoders. IP geolocation is only a secondary hint and can be disabled.

When IP lookup is enabled, only the IP is sent to the selected service. If that service fails, the plugin tries the remaining providers in sequence: ipwho.is, IPinfo, and FreeIPAPI. VPNs, proxies, and mobile networks can report another city, so IP data never replaces the shipping address.

The plugin does not store plain-text IPs. Its geolocation cache is removed on uninstall.

Plugin data

Two plugin-owned tables are created for fast local search: shop_aicity_location and shop_aicity_location_alias. Per-user manager locations are stored in the plugin settings by user ID. The tables, settings, and cache are removed by Webasyst when the plugin is uninstalled.

System requirements

  • Shop-Script 8 or later;
  • Webasyst 2;
  • PHP 7.4.24 or later;
  • an internet connection is required only when IP geolocation is enabled.
