One primary URL for every public photo
SEO Routes Foto consolidates duplicate photo routes and safely handles gallery pagination. It uses standard Webasyst events, does not modify the Photos core, and does not require theme edits.
Yandex Webmaster: duplicate titles and descriptions
The plugin resolves technical title and description duplicates reported by Yandex Webmaster when one photo is available at multiple URLs or pagination pages repeat the same meta tags. Alternate routes are redirected to the primary URL, one canonical URL is published, and pagination meta tags receive a unique page number.
Yandex Webmaster updates this report only after the affected pages are crawled again. The plugin does not rename different photos that share the same caption; those content duplicates must be edited separately.
What the plugin does
- Redirects photo URLs nested inside albums to the primary photo URL with HTTP 301.
- Publishes one canonical URL in both HTML and the HTTP Link header.
- Removes
?page=1and returns HTTP 404 for invalid or empty pagination pages. - Adds the page number to title and description.
- Consolidates selected duplicate paths with exact internal 301 redirects.
- Rejects external targets, self-redirects, duplicate sources, and redirect chains before saving.
The recommended defaults fit most installations. The settings screen explains every option and shows a live example of the second page’s meta tags.
Important
The plugin provides technical URL consolidation. It does not generate SEO copy, rename photos, manage robots.txt, or guarantee higher rankings or traffic.
If a design theme or another plugin already publishes canonical URLs or redirects photo pages, choose one component to own those rules before enabling the matching options.

- Webasyst installed at the domain root or in a subdirectory.
The plugin does not use external services, install theme files, create database tables, or process visitors’ personal data. It stores only its own settings.
Quick start
- Install and enable the plugin in the Photos app.
- Keep the four recommended switches enabled.
- Save the settings and verify a primary photo URL, the same photo inside an album,
?page=1, the last gallery page, and the next empty page.
