llms.txt - knowledge base & FAQ map for AI
Shoppers increasingly don't scroll the results - they ask an AI: "how do I set it up", "is it compatible with my model", "how do I return it if it doesn't fit". The answer already lives in your knowledge base and FAQ. The plugin hands AI an llms.txt - a clean map of those answers - so the AI replies in your words, not a guess, and leads the customer to you.
More and more answers reach the shopper without a site visit: 68% of Google searches now end without a single click (SparkToro, 2026), and nearly 9 in 10 queries that trigger an AI overview are informational - "how" and "can I" questions (Semrush, 2025). The llms.txt map makes sure your knowledge base, not a competitor's, is what those answers draw on.
When someone asks an AI about a product or service, it looks for where a solid answer to that question already exists. The difference is whether the AI can read your answers - and that decides whose answer it quotes.
Without llms.txt
→ recommends a competitor or garbles your terms
With llms.txt
→ recommends you, the customer comes to you
AI doesn't answer with invention - it answers by quoting content that solves a concrete problem: a short question, a clear answer. Your store's FAQ and knowledge base are exactly that format, the easiest for a machine to use. That is why AI readily takes it into an answer.
And you don't need top rankings to be quoted: per Ahrefs (2025), a page's spot in ordinary search is barely related to whether an AI answer cites it. So a store without the first results still has a real shot at appearing in an AI answer through structured questions and answers. The plugin hands your knowledge base to the AI in the form it likes - an llms.txt map.
An assistant on a phone, in an app, a browser, a car or a speaker doesn't read your site itself - it passes the question to its own AI. To answer, that AI turns to AI search, which pulls data from sites. Your answers are easier and more accurate to take from a ready llms.txt map than to dig out of raw HTML. The chain is simple:
West - English-language assistants:
Russia - assistants on their own AI:
A key documented anchor: Yandex Neuro shows source links in every answer it composes (Yandex help) - so it matters that your knowledge base is among those sources. If the person didn't name a company, the assistant picks one itself - all the more reason your answers should be readable to it.
A questions-and-answers section is not a box to tick - it's where the buying decision is made. And it works even before AI enters the picture.
FAQ used to appear right in the results as a tidy expandable block. Google removed those FAQ snippets for ordinary sites - first in 2023, for good in 2026 (Google Search Central). The one growing channel for questions and answers is AI, and it's worth taking before a competitor does.
And demand for AI answers is climbing fast: the share of searches with no site visit grew from 49% in 2019 to 68% today (SparkToro) - the fastest in a decade. The llms.txt format itself was proposed by Jeremy Howard (Answer.AI) in 2024, and within a year hundreds of thousands of sites adopted it. Whoever ships the map earlier is in the answers earlier.
These are parts of one system for preparing a site for AI search. llms.txt is the map: it shows the AI where your answers are (where to go). Schema.org markup is the meaning of each page: that this is a question and an answer (what to show). Social preview is a neat card when a link to an answer is shared in messengers, and the person clicks through to you.
Three plugins of one KakTak.Net line-up - map, meaning and preview - prepare your knowledge base for AI search together. You can start with llms.txt and add the others as you need them.
Base 1 domain
llms.txt and llms-full.txt - knowledge-base sections, questions and answers.Premium multi-domain
The base edition covers your whole public knowledge base with no question limit on the main domain and refreshes itself along with the content.
llms.txt and llms-full.txt; after that the files refresh themselves on new questions and answers (on schedule) or manually.llms.txt is a short map for a quick read; llms-full.txt is the detailed one, with the answer texts (length can be capped in the settings).Honest about the mechanics. The Helpdesk app doesn't serve its map at a URL of its own - it folds it into your site's shared
llms.txt, the one served by the app on the home page (Site or Shop). So our llms.txt plugin is needed there too: then the support answers join the site's shared map, which is what the AIs read. And note: no AI platform is obliged to read llms.txt, and on its own it doesn't lift Google rankings - Google's own reps say so plainly. This isn't a "traffic trick" but base infrastructure for the age of AI agents: the effect grows with the spread of AI search and is strongest paired with markup and previews. The plugin makes your knowledge base machine-readable and honestly described - so that when an assistant reads, it reads your answers, not guesses.
